While most of us have never heard of this film yet, I have a feeling by the end of the year we'll all be talking about it. Premiering at SXSW this weekend is a film titled The Mule , co-written by Angus Sampson and Leigh Whannell (you may known them as Specs & Tucker from Insidious), co-directed by Angus Sampson and Tony Mahony. The story is about a drug "mule" taken into custody in 1983 by Australian Federal Police, who refuses to "defy his bodily functions and withhold the evidence...literally." That whole concept may not make sense until you get a glimpse at this poster, then you can start to put the pieces together, then you can think "holy shit" this might be crazy. Hugo Weaving stars, but there are no actors on here yet. Take a look.

Here's the first festival teaser poster for Angus Sampson & Tony Mahony's The Mule , debuted via Twitch.

The Mule Poster

Here's the full description from SXSW: It's 1983. A naive man with lethal narcotics hidden in his stomach is detained by Australian Federal Police. Alone and afraid, ‘the Mule’ makes a desperate choice; to defy his bodily functions and withhold the evidence...literally. And by doing so becomes a 'human time-bomb'; dragging cops, criminals and concerned family into his impossible escapade. Inspired by true events, The Mule is co-directed by Angus Sampson and Tony Mahony, with a darkly comic screenplay by Sampson, Leigh Whannell (Saw, Insidious), and Jaime Browne. The film stars Hugo Weaving alongside Sampson and Whannell with an ensemble cast including Ewen Leslie, Geoff Morrell, Georgina Haig, Noni Hazlehurst and John Noble. The Mule premieres this March at SXSW 2014 and is still seeking a US distributor. Curious?

"When people ask why I'm doing it, my usual answer is: why not." The Weinstein Company has unveiled their full theatrical US trailer for the film Tracks , from director John Curran (The Painted Veil), starring Mia Wasikowska as explorer Robyn Davidson, who hiked her way solo across the Australian Outback. It's a wonderful, extraordinary, beautiful adventure about the incredible journey of one woman, and it's a compelling and inspiring film to boot. Adam Driver co-stars, but it's mostly all Wasikowska and her dogs and camels. The trailer features M83's "Outro" and is basically a recut of the first international trailer from last year, but I'm still happy to highlight this film. In my TIFF review I called it a "beautiful, beautiful film."

Here's the latest theatrical trailer for John Curran's Tracks , originally from Yahoo:

Starring Mia Wasikowska (Jane Eyre, Stoker) and Adam Driver ("Girls", Frances Ha, Inside Llewyn Davis), directed by John Curran (The Painted Veil, We Don't Live Here Anymore) and from the producers of The King's Speech, Tracks is based on the inspirational and iconic true story of Robyn Davidson. Robyn's phenomenal solo trek from Alice Springs to Uluru and on to the Indian Ocean saw her traverse 2,700 km of spectacular yet unforgiving Australian desert accompanied only by her loyal dog and four unpredictable camels. Set against one of the wildest, most dangerous and most breathtaking backdrops on the planet, this unprecedented journey pushed Robyn to her physical and emotional limits and taught her that sometimes we have to detach from the world to feel connected to it. In witnessing this extraordinary journey we realize that the impossible is within reach of us all. Tracks will be released in the US soon, but still needs its date.

firstshownet.blogspot.com Sound Off: Noam Murro's '300: Rise of an Empire' - Your Thoughts?

by Alex Billington

March 7, 2014

Now that you've seen it, what did you think? Seize your glory! Now in theaters everywhere is 300: Rise of an Empire , the sequel/prequel/side-story to Zack Snyder's 300 based on Frank Miller's graphic novel, which raged on the big screen seven years ago in early 2007. While Leonidas isn't back, this time we follow Sullivan Stapleton as Themistokles, fighting off Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, played again by Rodrigo Santoro, and Artemisia, played by Eva Green. So how is this one? As good as the first one? Any better? If you've seen it, leave a comment with your thoughts on 300: Rise of an Empire.

To fuel the fires of Sparta, 300: Rise of an Empire is actually an impressively entertaining action movie that sort of, for the most part, lives up to the original. Director Noam Murro replicates the style and the feel, but he doesn't have the same touch that Snyder does with the action scenes. They just don't feel as fluid and perfectly choreographed as they are in 300. But that said, there's a hell of a lot of action in this movie and it's definitely one of this starts-and-doesn't-stop kind of experiences. Sullivan Stapleton is no Gerard Butler, but he does hold his own. Eva Green is bonkers, which is enjoyable most of the time but became a bit bland. It's a few notches below the original, but still an entertaining comic book, fantasy, history, action mash-up.

300: Rise of an Empire

What did you think of Murro's 300: Rise of an Empire? Badass follow-up or a visual disaster?

We will remove any comments that indicate you have not seen the movie, as this area is meant to discuss the film only once you have seen it and can talk about your thoughts. Please keep the comments civilized!

You will probably be able to buy some of these pieces online at some point, but in the meantime, they could make some great backgrounds on your phone, computer, etc. Overall some fantastic art for some beloved Disney classics, and some Pixar classics, too. I really love Whalen's Finding Nemo print, and the two Mike Mitchell portraits. Plus, that Jungle Book poster is insanely good. More of wonderful art from Mondo. Favorites?

Focus Sets Indie Sci-Fi Film 'The Signal' for Summer Release in June firstshownet.blogspot.com

firstshownet.blogspot.com Focus Sets Indie Sci-Fi Film 'The Signal' for Summer Release in June

by Alex Billington

March 7, 2014

Briefly: Not to be confused with the other indie Sundance '07 horror thriller The Signal, a triptych set of stories, this is one full-length sci-fi indie feature that just premiered at Sundance 2014. Another one of our favorite Sundance films (my review) this year finally gets a release date, as Focus Features has announced that William Eubank's The Signal will hit limited theaters starting June 13th, 2014 this summer, with wider expansions June 20th and June 27th. In The Signal, three college students on a road trip across the Southwest experience a detour; the tracking of a computer genius who has already hacked into MIT and exposed security faults. The trio find themselves drawn to an eerily isolated area when suddenly, everything goes dark. The film stars Brenton Thwaites, Olivia Cooke, Beau Knapp and Laurence Fishburne. More soon.

"Is that the really good stuff?" Sony Pictures Classics has debuted one more official trailer for the new Jim Jarmusch film, Only Lovers Left Alive , which premiered at Cannes last year and has been playing at festivals all over, including Sundance at this January. In the film, Tom Hiddleston and Tilda Swinton star as a two blood-crossed vampires who have been in love for centuries. But it's not the conventional take on vampires, it's the Jarmusch very indie, minimal take with depressing German rock music and sunglasses. Mia Wasikowska, John Hurt and Anton Yelchin all co-star. The trailer pretty much speaks for itself - enjoy.

Here's the latest official US trailer for Jim Jarmusch's Only Lovers Left Alive , originally from Yahoo:

Only Lovers Left Alive, written & directed by Jim Jarmusch (Dead Man, Broken Flowers, Limits of Control) takes place against the romantic desolation of Detroit and Tangier and follows an underground musician (Tom Hiddletons), deeply depressed by the direction of human activities, who reunites with his resilient and enigmatic lover (Tilda Swinton). Their love story has endured several centuries at least, but their debauched idyll is disrupted by her wild and uncontrollable younger sister. Mia Wasikowska, John Hurt, Anton Yelchin also star in the film which premiered first premiered at Cannes and will also play Sundance. Sony Classics will release Only Lovers Left Alive in limited theaters starting April 11th. For more follow their Facebook.

Last time we had this smoking hot Colombian model on the site, I said she belonged in a bikini. But now, after seeing this latest shoot Catalina Otalvaro did for Besame Lingerie, I think I have to change my mind, because she clearly belongs in lingerie too. Lucky for us though, we don’t have to choose, and you can just go ahead and enjoy Catalina’s perfect body in both. Now that’s what I call ending the week on a high note. You’re welcome.

Picturehouse Picks Up Adam Wingard's Kick Ass New Film 'The Guest' firstshownet.blogspot.com

firstshownet.blogspot.com Picturehouse Picks Up Adam Wingard's Kick Ass New Film 'The Guest'

by Alex Billington

March 7, 2014

Briefly: We're happy to report that one of our favorite films out of Sundance 2014 finally has a distributor and will be hitting theaters this fall. Picturehouse, the 2013-rebooted version of the classic indie studio, has acquired all US rights to The Guest , from writer Simon Barrett and director Adam Wingard, behind You're Next previously. The film was a huge hit at Sundance this year, playing in the Midnight Madness category, starring Dan Stevens (from "Downton Abbey") as a soldier who arrives at the home of the Peterson family, and begins protecting them. It's awesome, a throwback to 80's action and yet still so much kick ass fun, and I'm so glad it will be out this year. No release date it set yet, however Picturehouse is planning a fall release.

Commenting on the acquisition news, Picturehouse CEO Bob Berney stated: Barrett & Wingard's "The Guest is hilariously fun and innovative, and its recent premiere at Sundance blew everyone away... We pride ourselves on collaborating with filmmakers, and Keith, Jess, Adam and Simon are a force of nature." He's referring to Snoot Entertainment's Keith Calder & Jessica Calder, producers of the film, who add: "We're so excited to work with Bob and Jeanne at Picturehouse after long admiring the fantastic job they've done releasing some of our favorite movies of all time" like Pan's Labyrinth & Memento. The cast includes Dan Stevens, Maika Monroe, Brendan Meyer, Sheila Kelley, Leland Orser & Lance Reddick. This movie kicks ass.

The Guest Poster

After listing The Guest as one of my Top 5 of Sundance, I called Dan Stevens "now one of my favorite action heroes. So, so so badass, such a fun film. It was my very last film of Sundance 2014, but" still one of the best.

"I've seen some horrible things - but nothin' that can't be explained by human nature." "Then you haven't seen true evil." Screen Gems has debuted the first full trailer for Scott Derrickson's (of 2012's Sinister) new paranormal horror-thriller Deliver Us from Evil , starring Eric Bana as a New York police officer who joins forces with an unconventional priest, played by Edgar Ramirez, to combat possessions terrorizing their city. That sounds awesome, so how does it look? Good. It had my attention at the start, then suddenly gets quiet as it becomes all about building suspense. This mostly just a tease, but a good one to start with.

Here's the first official trailer for Scott Derrickson's Deliver Us from Evil , found on YouTube:

NY police officer Ralph Sarchie (Bana), struggling with his own personal issues, begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest (Ramirez), schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city. Based on the book by the same name, written by Ralph Sarchie & Lisa Collier Cool, which details bone-chilling real-life cases. Deliver Us from Evil is co-written and directed by Scott Derrickson, of The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Day the Earth Stood Still, and Sinister previously. The film is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and Screen Gems. Deliver Us from Evil hits theaters July 2nd this summer. Creepy?

Apparently Carmen Electra just became FHM‘s oldest cover model ever with this spread for their upcoming April issue. Which is just nuts considering she’s still twice as hot at 41 as most girls half her age. So here’s hoping Carmen doesn’t hang up her lingerie any time soon, because after these pictures, she’s clearly got a lot more years left in the tank. Well done.

Supposedly Hilary Duff ‘s ex-douche Aaron Carter is trying to get back together with her via Twitter now that Hilary’s finally single again. But dude can get in line, because I’m pretty sure I’ve had my name on that waiting list for way longer. For one, Twitter proposals are kind of my thing. And besides, as the dude who writes about Hilary’s MILF hotness on a regular basis on the Internet, me and her clearly have a way deeper connection. So enjoy these pictures of Hilary in leather pants guys, but just remember, I called her first.

In fact, I’m starting to think they just made this whole thing up to get the tattooed hottie to pose for some sexy pictures for them. In which case, I just have one thing to say: these guys are geniuses! Why didn’t I think of that?

by Alex Billington

March 7, 2014

One of the many indie films we really think deserves to break out this year is the latest feature from British filmmaker/actor/comedian Richard Ayoade, a funky dystopian sci-fi dark comedy based on Dostoyevsky's The Double , starring Jesse Eisenberg. The film premiered at TIFF last year and we've been promoting it with reviews, trailers, interviews and plenty of other posters in the past, but this new poster is the best one yet. This new UK poster for The Double has a very minimalistic, artistic feel to it, like it was hand-drawn. A single ray of light shines down across a city on one man. It's impressive, and I'm glad it's an official poster.

Check out this latest poster for Richard Ayoade's The Double , direct from IMPAwards via Live for Films.

The Double UK Poster March 2014

The Double is directed by Richard Ayoade (watch our TIFF interview with him here) who co-wrote the script with Avi Korine (brother of Spring Breakers director Harmony Korine), based on Fyodor Dostoyevsky's The Double: A Petersburg Poem. The film follows Jesse Eisenberg as Simon, who arrives at work only to find an exact double of himself has usurped his tenuous position in the company. Routinely humiliated by his boss (played by Wallace Shawn), the neurotic Simon now has to deal with a doppelgänger that is everything he isn't: confident, charming, successful, superficial. Mia Wasikowska and Noah Taylor also star in the film which played at London, Toronto and Sundance before hitting the UK April 4th, and the US on May 9th.

We’ve always been able to count on Taylor Swift and her sweet stems to put on a good leg show in the past, but she officially took things to the next level with these pictures. Because here she is leaving the gym in a pair of some of the shortest short shorts I think we’ve ever had on the site. Obviously I’ll have to go back into the archives to confirm that though, so there goes my Friday night. Thanks a lot, Taylor. No really, on behalf of me and all my readers, thank you.

And it’s a good thing too, because without these pictures, I never would’ve learned that Mena’s booty is still in prime condition. So I’m happy to officially welcome her back to the site, and as long as Mena keeps providing us with shots like these, I promise there’ll always be a special place for her in my heart pants region.

No surprises here, but looks like Playboy model Anais Zanotti is back posing for more bikini pictures at the beach again. And yes, somehow she’s in an even tinier bikini than last time. In fact, I can’t even show you guys the full view without busting out those black censor bars. Which is a shame, because that’s definitely Anais’ best angle. That said, at least she’s also doing an actual photoshoot here instead of just faking one for the paps, so I appreciate the honesty. by Alex Billington

March 6, 2014

"The Noah story belongs to all of us - every religion, every culture, every citizen of planet Earth. Now it is your turn: the story is yours to envision." At a gallery in SoHo on a cold March night in New York, Darren Aronofsky debuted a grand collection of art created by his friends and colleagues inspired by the Book of Genesis and the Story of Noah. This event celebrated the opening of the "Noah Art Show", organized in promotion for Aronofsky's latest movie, Noah , in theaters at the end of this month. The show is officially titled "Fountains of the Deep: Visions of Noah and the Flood" and we've previewed it already, but with the opening tonight we were invited to take a look inside this spectacular gallery of stunning, one-of-a-kind art.

The Fountains of the Deep art show opens at 462 West Broadway (Google Maps) on Friday, March 7th, 2014 and run for a few weeks, coinciding with the theatrical release of Noah on March 28th later that month. The gallery, spanning two entire floors, features work "in painting, in drawing, in photography, in sculpture" and in video, with little peep holes showing some awesome finished footage from the film. Artists include Ugo Rondinone, Sue Williams, Karen Kilimnik, Mike Nelson, Nan Goldin, Jim Lee, Robert Liefeld, Jim Woodring, Simon Bisley, graffiti duo Faile, James Jean, Ward Shelley, Simon Bisley, and many others.

We were invited to the early gallery preview opening tonight and wanted to present a quick first look inside the magnificent Noah Art Show. Included below are some photos as well as a sample of some of the art on display. It's also worth reading Aronofsky's introduction to the show and his take on Noah's story - see here.

Finally, to wrap up here's two more of my own Instagram shots from the Noah Art Show opening tonight:

For info on the show read our post or head to the official website. As always follow @DarrenAronofsky More prints from the show will be revealed online via his twitter and the NoahMovie.com website. At the South by Southwest Film Festival this year, Jon Favreau is getting back to his indie roots with Chef , the story of a talented cook who loses his job at a big restaurant in Los Angeles and tries to start his career anew while trying to get his estranged family back together. In order to hype the film at the festival in Austin, Favreau had his good friend and Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. use his graphic artist skills to design some bright and colorful posters that they will be putting around town. And keep an eye out, because it looks like some of these posters will be signed by Downey himself. See the unveiling of the posters below!

Here's the video revealing the SXSW posters for Jon Favreau's Chef from the director's Twitter:

When Chef Carl Casper (Jon Favreau) suddenly quits his job at a prominent Los Angeles restaurant after refusing to compromise his creative integrity for its controlling owner (Dustin Hoffman), he is left to figure out what’s next. Finding himself in Miami, he teams up with his ex-wife (Sofia Vergara), his friend (John Leguizamo) and his son (Emjay Anthony) to launch a food truck. Taking to the road, Chef Carl goes back to his roots to reignite his passion for the kitchen -- and zest for life and love. Chef is written and directed by Jon Favreau (Elf, Iron Man), premieres at SXSW this month, and hits theaters on May 9th. Interested?

Weinstein Company Sets Awaited 'Snowpiercer' US Release in June firstshownet.blogspot.com

firstshownet.blogspot.com Weinstein Company Sets Awaited 'Snowpiercer' US Release in June

by Ethan Anderton

Snowpiercer

Briefly: After getting picked up about a year and a half ago by The Weinstein Company, and getting jockeyed around with 20 minutes being cut from the film and a new edit being tested and shot down in favor of director Bong Joon-ho's original cut, Snowpiercer is finally coming to the United States. Last month we learned the director's cut of the film will see release, and Radius-TWC has just given the film a limited theatrical release on June 27th, and if the distribution arm follows suit, the film will likely hit VOD the same day. With Captain America: The Winter Soldier coming in April, it's a good year for Chris Evans.

Screen Gems and Sam Raimi Team to Adapt 'Last of Us' Video Game firstshownet.blogspot.com

Source: Deadline

The building block game Minecraft just got picked up for film treatment, and now the hit Playstation 3 video game The Last of Us is poised to hit the big screen as well. Deadline has word that Screen Gems, the company behind the Resident Evil franchise, will distribute a live-action adaptation of the pandemic ravaged open world game with Sam Raimi and his Ghost House Pictures banner producing. The game studio Naughty Dog will have their co-presidents Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra working as the "creative architects" along with the game's creative director Neil Druckmann and director Bruce Straley.

For those who don't know anything about The Last of Us , here's a cool game trailer:

The game follows two characters, hardened survivor Joel and the young and capable Ellie, who join forces to try and survive in a radically transformed world some 20 years after an infectious pandemic has ravaged humanity. Joel had a life before the pandemic, while the world of the pandemic is all that Ellie has ever known. As part of Joel's job to smuggle Ellie out of the quarantine zone, they have to make it past roving gangs of human scavengers not unlike themselves, military installations and infected civilians. The game is intense and has a great story that could certainly be turned into a cool movie. Video game movies haven't had much luck, but maybe Raimi can round up some great talent to make it work. Thoughts?

firstshownet.blogspot.com Cora Keegan Pictures Are A Real Workout

Far as I know, I’ve never done a post on this Cora Keegan chick before, and clearly I’ve been missing out, because this has got to be one of the hottest photoshoots I’ve come across in a while. What can I say, there’s just something about crazy hot chicks working out in see-through shirts that does it for me, but maybe that’s just me. Oh wait, it’s not? I didn’t think so. Enjoy.

"That there is a dame to kill for." Some recent first look photos popped up showing off the return of Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For , not to mention a glimpse of Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Now we get to see more of them and a much better look into the sequel, including the first looks at Ray Liotta, Eva Green, Powers Boothe, and Dennis Haysbert stepping in for Michael Clarke Duncan. As expected, the visuals are gorgeous, and this looks like the Sin City sequel we've all been waiting for from Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller. It's short and sweet, but that's all we need for now. Watch it!

Here's the teaser trailer for Robert Rodriguez's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For from YouTube:

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is directed by Robert Rodriguez who co-wrote the script with William Monahan (The Departed) and Frank Miller, creator of the graphic novel series and co-director of the first film. Dwight (Josh Brolin) is hunted down by the only woman he ever loved, Ava Lord (Eva Green), and then watches his life go straight to hell. Chronologically, this story takes place prior to "The Big Fat Kill" (seen in the first Sin City) and explains how Dwight came to have a dramatically different face. Jessica Alba, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Mickey Rourke, Juno Temple, Jaime King, Rosario Dawson and many others star in the film being shot in 3D and Dimension Films will send the sequel to theaters on August 22nd this summer. Excited?

Johnny Depp is Still Loading on Pixelated New 'Transcendence' Poster firstshownet.blogspot.com

firstshownet.blogspot.com Johnny Depp is Still Loading on Pixelated New 'Transcendence' Poster

by Ethan Anderton

March 6, 2014

This spring, Johnny Depp will become one with a computer in Transcendence , and the second trailer for the directorial debut from cinematographer Wally Pfister certainly showed off the scale of this technological thriller. The film isn't too far away from hitting theaters, and now the hype machine is getting a little more generic and safe in trying to get audiences interested. A new poster has just arrived and it makes full use of Depp's handsome face, but almost as if the poster was accessed by dial-up, half of the image is pixelated. I still think this film feels like a 90s thriller with contemporary technology, but we'll see.

Here's the new poster for Wally Pfister's Transcendence from Yahoo:

Transcendence

Transcendence is directed by Wally Pfister (cinematographer on Inception and The Dark Knight trilogy) and written by Jack Paglen, with rewrites by Alex Paraskevas & Jordan Goldberg. Dr. Will Caster (Johnny Depp) is the foremost researcher in the field of Artificial Intelligence, working to create a sentient machine that combines the collective intelligence of everything ever known with the full range of human emotions. When anti-technology extremists threaten his life, they inadvertently trigger a quick move towards his transcendence, and Will’s thirst for knowledge evolves into a seemingly omnipresent quest for power, to what end is unknown. Warner Bros will be releasing Transcendence in theaters starting on April 18th. So?

Tom Hardy Gets a Lot of Phone Calls in the First US Trailer for 'Locke' firstshownet.blogspot.com

firstshownet.blogspot.com Tom Hardy Gets a Lot of Phone Calls in the First US Trailer for 'Locke'

by Ethan Anderton

Can Tom Hardy make driving in a car for an hour and a half compelling? If the quotes in this first domestic trailer for the real-time thriller Locke are to be believed, then then answer is affirmative. While the trailer does seem a bit silly since it uses quick cuts to Hardy driving a car from different angles and in various states of distress, it does sounds like his character is dealing with a lot of pressure from several different angles. Taking the isolated setting and single-character style of Buried and adding an actor like Hardy into the mix is what truly makes this seem like a promising film, but we'll find out this spring. Watch!

Here's the US trailer for Steven Knight's Locke , originally from Yahoo:

Locke is written and directed by Steven Knight (director of Hummingbird and writer of Eastern Promises). Ivan Locke (Tom Hardy) is an obsessive perfectionist, respected by his coworkers and loved by his bosses. He cherishes the bond he shares with his two sons and the unshakeable partnership he has developed with his wife; it's an ideal existence built with painstaking care. But hours before the biggest day of his career, Locke receives a phone call that threatens to destroy the life he has worked so meticulously to create. Locke premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2013 and A24 Films releases the film in US theaters April 24th.

When it comes to lingerie companies, Agent Provocateur always seems to know what’s up, but I think they outdid themselves this time with one of the best promo videos I’ve ever seen. It’s basically just six minutes of super-hot models in awesome lingerie, led by the pants-meltingly sexy Irina Shayk . So if you’ll excuse me, I have to go watch this on repeat about 100 more times, and I suggest you all do the same. You’re welcome in advance.

firstshownet.blogspot.com Kimberley Garner Would Make A Great Future Ex-Wife

I’ve always liked Kimberley Garner , and after seeing these pictures of her making pancakes in a pair of seriously short shorts, I think it’s time to take our relationship to the next level. She’s been my Twitter girlfriend for a while now, and I guess this is her way of saying she’s ready to get more serious. I always knew she’d make great ex-wife material someday… Wait, is that the fake maple syrup stuff on the counter? Nevermind, forget it. Let’s call the whole thing off.

"Movies don't really build things like this anymore." While much of the talk about Noah after the film hits theaters will likely and pointlessly revolved around the film's accuracy to The Bible and various other religious qualms, some attention should be paid to its achievement in filmmaking. And one such impressive element is the constructions of the ark at the center of the film. The first featurette for Darren Aronofsky's epic focuses on how they made part of this giant ship a reality, taking one year to design and six months to build it. Visual effects complete the ark, but this practical set piece is awesome. Watch below!

Here's the first featurette from Darren Aronofsky's Noah from YouTube:

firstshownet.blogspot.com Elizabeth Deo Gets My Motor Running

According to the guys at Kandy Magazine at least, Elizabeth Deo here is going to be “Hollywood’s next break-out star,” and while I’m not too sure about that considering I’ve never heard of her before this, I’d definitely say she has what it takes to be Hollywood Tuna’s next break-out star if she plays her cards right. This bootylicious photoshoot was a good start, but if we’re going to get serious, I’ll obviously want to take a look under the hood for myself. Actually, to be honest, I want to do that either way. Call me?

Quick Breakdown of Barrel Sequence in 'Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug' firstshownet.blogspot.com

firstshownet.blogspot.com Quick Breakdown of Barrel Sequence in 'Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug'

by Ethan Anderton

March 6, 2014

We just recently saw a cool featurette showing Benedict Cumberbatch doing motion-capture work to play the titular dragon in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug . Now another look behind the scenes has popped up looking at the somewhat silly, but impressive dwarf barrel escape sequence from the sequel that feels almost straight out of a Steven Spielberg film. Peter Jackson pops up on set as this featurette shows a combination of the footage shot and the visual effects that came together to make this fun sequence work on the big screen. It's a short featurette, but it shows just how much went into this small part of the film.

Here's the featurette on the barrel sequence The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug from Wired:

In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit... J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit , being directed by Peter Jackson as three separate movies, is set in Middle-Earth 60 years before Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, which Jackson and his filmmaking team brought to the big screen in a trilogy ten years ago. The films, with screenplays by Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, Guillermo del Toro and Peter Jackson, were shot consecutively in digital 3D using the latest cameras. The Hobbit follows the journey of Bilbo Baggins, played by Martin Freeman, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug hits Blu-Ray & DVD early this spring on April 8th.

Here’s one for all you booty lovers out there: Carmen Ortega made the cover of some magazine I’ve never heard of before called Always Therro, and I’ve got the pictures for you in case you missed it on newsstands. I’m always worried that one of these days Carmen is going to take exception to all the times I’ve called her body juicy or meaty in the past, although in my defense, I mean it as a compliment. Don’t women love it when you tell them they’re stacked in the front meat department? That’s not a rhetorical question. I’m, uh, asking for a friend.
